Santanna & Riley, located in Madison, WI, were in search of Wisconsin maternity photos that offered beautiful scenery, and they definitely found it at Devil’s Lake State Park located in Baraboo, WI. Devil’s Lake State Park is Wisconsin’s largest state park and is known for its quartzite bluffs, some over a billion years old! It’s landscapes were shaped by glaciers during the ice age. This rich geological history adds to the parks mystique, making it a truly unique and timeless setting for maternity photos. When they asked me to join them on this adventure, I couldn’t have been more excited!
We hiked the Devil’s Doorway Trail, a stunning path that winds up the side of a cliff. While this trail is certainly a challenge, Santanna’s experience as a hiker made her an absolute trooper. As an experienced maternity photographer, I’ve had the opportunity to photograph many couples in various locations, but I have to admit—this was by far the most challenging hike I’ve done with clients. But the view at the top? Totally worth it. I have to give Santanna so much credit for taking on this hike while in her third trimester!
This beautiful adventure was everything I could have hoped for—breathtaking scenery, a brave and adventurous couple, and moments that will last a lifetime. I’m so grateful Santanna & Riley chose me to capture such an unforgettable experience. How lucky am I that our paths crossed, and they found me to document their maternity photos at this special time in their lives?
